Providing Family Planning to the most Vulnerable Clients

Description:
As Family Planning programs reach out to more and more vulnerable populations, the need for good assessment of mental health and psycho-social issues becomes criticial. In addition, the skills to work with "stressed" or "agitated" clients is a critical skill. This full day of training will look at the common mental health and psycho-social isssues within the profile of a woman or man coming to family planning. Participants will examine how stress, depession, trauma and other mental health issues might have an impact on the patient's overall health and their interactions in the clinic. The afternoon will focus on the skills needed to provide exemplary family planning services even when patients present as angry, agitated or needed some extra considerations at the clinic level.
