Michelle Gerka, VP of Community Education
Projects, CAI
Michelle Gerka is the Vice-President of Family and Community Education
at Cicatelli Associates and has been the co-director of NATISHE for o ver
ten years. In her capacity at Cicatelli, Michelle works on Family
Planning training programs, Tobacco Control, WIC, and many other areas.
One of her key interests is adolescent development and the impact of
development on Family Planning programs including
outreach, education and clinical services including some of the new
clinical protocols that will improve access to adolescents. Michelle
has worked with numerous NATISHE participants over the years to develop
their skills in training utilizing evidence-based approaches to the
work.
Donald
A. Dyson, MSS, PhD
Dr. Don Dyson has been working with NATISHE for over a decade. He is an
Assistant Professor in the Widener University Program in Human
Sexuality. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Widener’s
Center for Social Work Education. Prior to that, he was the coordinator
of STD prevention education for the State of New Jersey’s Department of
Health. His experience includes work with Cicatelli Associates and
Planned Parenthood of DE. He specializes in the training of sexuality
professionals, the intersect between Social Work and Human Sexuality,
and has specific interest in the areas of ethics, multiculturalism and
reproductive health.
Dianne R. Browne, MEd, MA, CFLE
Dianne Browne is a private consultant.
She holds a Masters Degree in Human Sexuality Education from Widener
University in Chester,
PA
and another in Administration & Supervision for the Educational Trainer
from Montclair State University
in Montclair, NJ. She is currently completing her dissertation to earn
a Doctorate in Education at Widener University. Her experience in the
fields of social services and human sexuality include work with
adolescents, teen & adult parents, incarcerated males, families in faith
based communities as well as administrators from schools and community
based organizations. She’s has a wealth of experience in HIV prevention
and participated in the development of a peer educator program in State
prisons in New Jersey. She holds a NJ teacher’s certificate, as well as
national certifications as a Family Life Educator, Family Development
Specialist, and Human Sexuality Educator.
Amelia M. Hamarman, M.S.Ed, M.S.
Amelia Matlack Hamarman has worked in the field of sexual health
education for over 12 years and is currently the Sexually Transmitted
Disease Education Coordinator for the New Jersey Department of Health
and Senior
Services where one of her favorite projects is NATISHE! Her previous
work includes several years in Philadelphia area community-based
organizations designing and implementing various educational programs on
topics such as STDs (including HIV), risk reduction, sexual assault and
communication skills for groups ranging from middle school students to
adult professionals. Amelia also has a background in Online
Instructional Design and has recently designed and taught an online
course about teaching sexuality online for Widener University’s graduate
program in Human Sexuality Education. This is Amelia’s 5th year on the
Core Staff at NATISHE.
Katherine Boger, MUP, Program Manager and Senior Trainer, CAI
Katherine Boger is currently employed at Cicatelli Associates, Inc., as a Program Manager and Senior Trainer. Having been a consultant with Cicatelli, and a member of NATISHE Core Staff, Katherine has trained on a variety of topics. In January 2011 Katherine joined the Cicatelli team full time from Buffalo, NY where she was the Executive Director of Alianza Latina, Inc. In this capacity Katherine worked extensively to create, expand, and build HIV/AIDS prevention and outreach efforts in Latino and African American communities throughout Buffalo and Erie County. Ms. Boger has vast experience working with a number of groups with an especial ongoing interest in health disparities especially as concerns women of color. She has been a Presenter/Speaker at a number of national conferences including the National Organization for Women, US Conference on AIDS, and the Black Women & HIV National Conference. With a Masters in Urban Planning, Katherine is able to bring a comprehensive view to issues affecting vulnerable populations. In 2008, Ms. Boger published the article “The Sum of Its Parts: Understanding HIV/AIDS as a Comprehensive Women’s Issue.”
