Building
Momentum for POS Initiative (Community Partners)
Approaching decision makers, implementing policy change,
and sustaining these changes are the essence of our policy-driven work
in tobacco control. However, it takes more than the key decision makers
to make this happen. Each modality needs to examine who are the
stakeholders and influencers in your community that will assist in
implementing policy changes. Are they parents? Community members?
Clergy? Medical Personnel? Business people? Representatives from
community-based organizations? Young people? College Students?
This one-day training will examine how we engage the
broader community to be allies with us as we approach policy changes and
how to utilize their commitment, skills, and passion to assist us in
moving policy work forward. In addition, we will develop strategies for
defining “what’s in it for them” as a way to develop a more solid and
productive collaboration.
Attendance Requirements:
This training is required for all Community Partners.
