We're pleased to invite you to this innovative new 2-day
Continuing Medical Education program, "Treating
Tobacco Dependence in Mental Health Settings."
This activity has been specifically designed to provide
Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Advance Practice Nurses &
other Mental Health Professionals with the knowledge and
skills necessary to assess and treat tobacco dependence
in smokers with mental illness.

Objectives
By participating in the symposium, participants will
complete the following learning objectives:

Define the knowledge and skills necessary for
assessment and treatment of smokers with mental
illness
-
Identify the behavioral and pharmacologic treatments
for smokers with mental illness, including
medication interactions associated with smoking
-
Discuss motivational techniques for working with
lower motivated smokers
-
Recognize broader clinical and systems issues for
addressing tobacco dependence in mental health
setting.
