David Bell, MD, MPH is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics
and Populations and Family Health at Columbia University Medial
Center. He is the medical director of The Young Men’s Clinic, a
component of the Center for Community Health and Educations within
the Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Bell has
focused on male health issues, particularly male sexual and reproductive
health and is an adolescent medicine specialist, providing care primarily
to adolescents and young adults.
Rick Brown is the director of the Family Life Council of Greater
Greensboro’s nationally recognized Wise Guys Program. Under his
leadership the program has grown from a local service for teen males,
parents and educators in Guilford County, NC to a National resource
currently implemented in over 350 communities in 32 states nationwide.
Mr. Brown conducts trainings for professionals around the country in
implementing the Wise Guys program and workshops on topics regarding
males and sexuality.
Hector J. Campos is the CEO for Campos Training & Consulting
Group. Mr. Campos has 22 years of experience working in the field of
Male Involvement, Fatherhood Development, Sexuality Education and
Cultural Diversity. He is a nationally recognized trainer and keynote
speaker and has provided training and technical assistance in Mexico, the
Caribbean and South Pacific Islands. For twelve years he was a Project
Coordinator/Training Specialist at ETR Associates where he provided
training and technical assistance to the 25 Male Involvement and
Fatherhood Projects funded by the California Department of Health and
Human Services.
Joan Garrity has been an independent trainer, writer and consultant
for over 20 years. Along with facilitating as many as two dozen HIV
prevention counseling workshops each year to providers in Maryland
alone, she deliver trainings on counseling and communication skills
throughout the United States and internationally in a wide variety of
settings, including medical schools, substance abuse treatment programs,
reproductive health clinics and HIV prevention and treatment programs.
Ms. Garrity has held positions as the Director of Counseling for Planned
Parenthood of Maryland and the Director of Education and Training for
the Center for Population Options – now known as Advocates for Youth.
Wayne V. Pawlowski, ACSW, LICSW is an independent consultant,
trainer and clinical social worker based in South Florida and the
Washington, DC area, with over 20 years in sexuality education,
reproductive heath and family planning. Mr. Pawlowski is a nationally
and internationally recognized sexuality/reproductive health/family
planning trainer and educator, having provided training in 49 of the 50
United States as well as in 13 nations. Previously, he was Planned
Parenthood Federation of America’s first and only Director of Training.
Prior to joining PPFA he served as the Director of Training for Planned
Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington D.C. for ten years.
Ira Sengupta is the Executive
Director of the Cross Cultural Health Care Program and past director of
the Cultural Competency Programs. She has developed and trained over
2,600 hours of trainings nationally and in cross cultural issues for
health and social service providers in the past year alone. Ms. SenGupta
conducts major cultural competency intuitional assessments and serves as
a consultant for the HRSA Managed Care Technical Assistance Center. Ms.
SenGupta has led several community-based research projects and serves on
the National Committee for Cultural Competence and the Committee for the
Development of Cultural Competence Curriculum and Training Modules for
Primary Care Physicians.
Pamela Wilson, MSW
is an independent program consultant and
trainer. Since the early 80’s she has helped a variety of organizations
develop sexuality education programs for children, adolescents, and
parents. She was the original author of the Preventing Adolescent
Pregnancy Program for Girls Incorporated. Pam has also designed and
implemented a range of training and technical assistance for practitioners
who provide services to young fathers and low-income couples with
children.
