About the Center for Evidence-Based
Interventions (CEBI)
The Center for Evidence-Based Interventions (CEBI) at Cicatelli Associates Inc. is a CDC-funded national provider of Capacity-Building Assistance (CBA) for HIV and STD prevention interventions and strategies. CBA is designed to assist in implementing and sustaining evidence-based HIV and STD prevention behavioral interventions and prevention strategies
We offer expertise in the diffusion of effective behavioral interventions (DEBIs) with a focus on Street Smart and Social Network and Safety Counts and provide training and individualized technical assistance to facilitate effective implementation of the interventions. CEBI areas of expertise include:
Implementing interventions with fidelity
Linking behavioral theory to practice
Conducting needs assessments
Adapting for specific populations
Group facilitation
Adolescent and youth-specific interventions
Monitoring and evaluation
Recruitment and Retention
A primary focus of the CEBI project is to help agencies effectively adapt and implement evidence based interventions to meet the unique needs of specific sub-populations of youth at risk, including ethnic/minority youth and LGBTQ youth.
Some of the services we provide include:
Training community-based organizations and other providers on the implementation of DEBIs, in particular Street Smart and Safety Counts.
Providing on-going capacity-building assistance to ensure that the intervention is implemented with fidelity.
Assessing agency implementation to determine needs for additional staff training and skill development
Assisting agencies in adapting interventions to address needs of specific populations
Providing skills-building and information sharing forums to build networks for support among agencies providing DEBI interventions
Providing CBA to help agencies monitor and evaluate their programs
Providing skills-building and information sharing forums to build networks for support among agencies providing DEBI interventions.
We offer CBA services nationally through in-person training programs, telephone consultation, tool kits, face-to-face meetings and web-based learning programs including virtual classrooms. We offer standardized training programs, as well as training programs and other capacity building services that are customized to meet your agency’s individualized needs.
