Continuing Education

Cicatelli Associates Inc. (CAI) provides many training programs that offer Continuing Education (CE) in various modalities, including face-to-face, webinars, teleconferences, etc. To be eligible for CE, participants must pre-register (if applicable) and attend the entire program.  Payment of any applicable fees and all required forms must be submitted to CAI before participants are issued their certificate.  Some distance learning activities (such as webinars, teleconferences, etc.) may require participants to pass a post-activity test before a certificate will be issued.

Following is a listing of available CE currently offered by CAI:

Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Credentialing (CRCC)
CAI is an approved provider of Certified Rehabilitation Counselor continuing education through the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. CAI’s Center for Addictions Training and Technical Assistance (CATTA) coordinates many programs that are approved for CRCC clock hours.  CAI staff is available to provide training programs customized to meet your organization’s specific needs.  These programs can be conducted at your agency or at our training center.  Please check the CATTA calendar for the schedule of upcoming activities.  Please see the course description for information regarding availability of CRCC clock hours. 

Continuing Medical Education (CME)
CAI is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.  Our CME program is dedicated to serving the educational needs of physicians serving low-income communities and/or special populations.   CAI’s training consultants have broad clinical and medical administrative expertise.  Our CME efforts are currently concentrated in HIV/AIDS and STDs; adolescent and women’s health; harm reduction and other approaches to alcohol, tobacco and drug use; mental and behavioral health; and clinic administration. None of our CME programs are funded by pharmaceutical or other commercial organizations.   CAI can fully or jointly sponsor CME activities that offer quality education and training for medical personnel.

Continuing Nursing Education (CNE)
CAI is an approved provider of CNE by the New York State Nurses Association.  We ensure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in all of our nursing educational programs.  Topics include but are not limited to HIV/AIDS, women’s health, palliative care, end of life issues, substance abuse, and mental and behavioral health.  CAI does not accept funding from pharmaceutical or other commercial organizations for our CNE programs. Faculty is required to disclose to the audience any potential or apparent conflict(s) of interest related to the content of their presentation(s).  CAI can fully or jointly sponsor CNE activities that offer quality education and training for nurses.

Continuing Professional Education Points (CPEUs)
Continuing Professional Educational Units (CPEUs) for Registered Dietiticians and Dietetic Technicians is offered by CAI through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).  As the Training Center for the New York State Department of Health’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program, CAI is working in unison with the NYSDOH WIC staff to improve the nutrion and health status of low-income women, infants and children who are at-risk by providing nutrition and health education.  CAI will develop and deliver face-to-face training programs which are available to WIC staff.  CAI’s distance learning programs (webinars, online training programs, etc.) are also available and open to the general public.  To find out more about upcoming trainings, registration, and availability of CPEUs, please visit CAI’s NYSDOH WIC Training Center calendar.

Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)
CAI is a New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) approved education and training provider.  CAI’s Center for Addictions Training and Technical Assistance (CATTA) coordinates many programs that are approved for OASAS clock hours.  CAI staff is available to provide training programs customized to meet your organization’s specific needs.  These programs can be conducted at your agency or at our training center.  Please check the CATTA calendar for the schedule of upcoming activities.  Please see the course description for information regarding availability of CASAC clock hours. 

Lactation-Continuing Education Recognition Points (L-CERPs)
Through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE),  CAI is an approved provider of Lactation – Continuing Education Recognition Points (L-CERPs).  As the Training Center for the New York State Department of Health’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program, CAI is working in unison with NYSDOH WIC staff to improve the nutrition and health status of low-income women, infants and children who are at-risk by providing nutrition and health education.  CAI will develop and deliver classroom training programs which are available to WIC staff.  CAI’s distance learning programs (webinars, online training programs, etc.) are also available and open to the general public.  To find out more about upcoming trainings, registration, and availability of L-CERPs, please visit CAI’s NYSDOH WIC Training Center calendar.

Social Work
Through the New York State Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, CAI is an approved provider of Social Work continuing education units.   As a provider of Social Work continuing education units, CAI maintains responsibility to show evidence of adherence to program objectives and methodologies suited to the educational needs of social work professionals.  CAI is accredited as a provider for unlimited sponsorship of programs.

Psychology
Many programs developed by CAI are designed for mental health professionals.  CAI’s staff of trainers and consultants come from diverse backgrounds and are experts on topics such as substance abuse, tobacco cessation, co-occurring disorders, the Transtheoretical Model of Behavior Change, motivational interviewing and cultural competency.  CAI can fully or jointly sponsor training programs customized to meet the needs of your agency’s mental and behavioral health professionals.   CAI is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.  Cicatelli Associates Inc. maintains responsibility for the programs and their content.
