PWA/LTI is the People Living with HIV/AIDS Leadership Training Institute.

The Leadership Training Institute was created by and for PWHA. This program was designed to energize the PWHA Community.  It helps in building the skills and knowledge needed to lead in the community at large—to continue making inroads into all aspects of community development and growth.

The LTI Core Training offers Individuals living with HIV/AIDS...

  • a safe space in which to explore individual leadership strengths and goals.
  • a better understanding of leadership opportunities in the AIDS community.
  • experience in problem solving approaches around real community issues.
  • a strengthened ability to have a voice in the processes that determine what AIDS services are appropriate and needed.
  • an increased sense of personal empowerment.

We know how to make a difference. By working together we can get things done-there is strength in numbers. PWA/LTI helps you discover the skills and the confidence to lead. You are our communities' greatest asset, but if you are not involved, that resource goes untapped. You owe it to yourself to become involved and have a say in what happens with public policy at every level. As people living with HIV/AIDS we must learn from the past. Your involvement is the only way to ensure a better future.

PWA LTI, a division of Cicatelli Associates Inc. (CAI), was developed through a partnership between the New York City Department of Health and the New York State Department of Health/AIDS Institute and those living with HIV/AIDS. This training instills the motivation for those living with HIV to become effectively involved in community planning as HIV policy advocates. Our community needs more leaders advocating for positive change; advocating for us all. Please become involved -
you make the difference.
