PWHA Advocacy Leadership
Goal: To help strengthen skills of and empower PWHA to become more effective leaders in their communities.
Objectives:
· Discuss knowledge, skills and attitudes of effective trainers.
· Develop necessary skills to replicate training, including presentation & processing.
· Examine personal issues and core values that may impact training delivery.
· Discuss various ways to empower and motivate others to work as PLWHA leaders.
· Discuss the importance of self-acceptance, disclosure and self-knowledge in being a PWHA leader.
· Enhance the negotiation and conflict management skills of participants through experiential simulations.
· Clarify concepts related to PWHA leadership including:
o Meaning and goals of PWHA leadership.
o Characteristics and qualities of effective leaders.
o Leadership skills self-assessment.
