HIV Rapid Testing Goal: To provide participants with information about issues related to the implementation of HIV Rapid Testing. Objectives: · Define what Rapid Testing is and is not as well as the advantages and special considerations to take into account when providing counseling to clients. · Develop counseling skills and techniques for adapting educational messages to be used during Pre and Post Rapid Test counseling. · Review best practices for appropriate management and processing of HIV rapid tests including review of the basic steps in conducting said rapid tests. · Prepare organizations to meet all the programmatic requirements for quality control and Rapid Test counseling. · Provide participants with necessary knowledge to conduct HIV testing in accordance with national guidelines. · Review the advantages and barriers in the implementation of Rapid Testing in the different easy-access spaces for high risk populations. · Define the process of confirmative testing with preliminarily positive results. · Discuss requirements regarding confidentiality, informed consent and documentation with regards to Rapid Testing.
