Conflict Resolution

Goal: To provide participants with the necessary tools to overcome interpersonal and inter-institutional conflicts in order to provide better prevention, care and support services.

Objectives:

·         Practice negotiation skills and learn how to arrive at agreements both at the intra-institutional and inter-institutional level.

·         Identify real and potential conflicts in daily workplace situations.

·         Reflect on and perform self-analysis of one’s interpersonal relationships with others and other institutions.

·         Define the factors involved in personal relationships that affect personal and institutional negotiations and discover one’s strengths and weaknesses in arriving at agreements.

·         Name the different steps to follow for negotiating and resolving conflicts in particular situations.

·         Develop communication skills as a necessary tool for negotiation including showing how to improve interpersonal and institutional communication.

·         Discuss themes related to diversity within institutions.

·         Discuss the dynamics that influence teamwork and strengthening skills to improve said teamwork.

·         Analysis of participant profiles using the Bolton Social Styles model so that participants are informed of their own social and work styles and thus are able to better understand how to work with others who possess different styles.
