Women and HIV Prevention Leadership Training Goal: To enable PWHA, particularly women, to advocate for themselves and others through skills building and leadership development. Objectives: · Identify the significance of using a multidisciplinary approach in assisting PLWHA to better manage their health and care. · Develop skills and competencies in effective communication with women about HIV prevention and testing. · Deliver culturally-sensitive and appropriate counseling to women of reproductive age and those in prenatal care concerning testing for HIV/AIDS and delivering test results. · Articulate issues and concerns of women from prenatal, labor and delivery to post-partum care. · Discuss and develop support systems that assist women throughout pregnancy and after delivery. · Develop and deliver educational messages to the community concerning HIV prevention and maternal - child transmission of HIV. · Prepare and deliver a presentation that targets women of reproductive age concerning HIV prevention and testing for HIV infection.
