The
success and sustainability of CAI's International efforts in TOTs, capacity
building and infrastructure development is the result of our expertise
in facilitating the transfer of knowledge and skills for implementation
by in-country leadership. Our trainers are a culturally diverse group
of experienced managers, physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers,
and other health professionals. Additionally, over 10% of our trainers
are PLWHA. They have expertise in delivering professional training that
is dynamic and interactive, respectful of participants, and that incorporates
the principles of adult learning and are delivered in a variety of modalities
to meet the unique needs of our clients.
CAI trainers also
have extensive experience conducting TOT and educational programs, engaging
providers, recruiting participants, designing curricula, and developing
training models that are efficacious and adaptable by a broad cross-section
of local providers, community leaders and PLWHA. Second generation trainers
from partner countries that have participated in our training programs
have successfully developed and begun implementing training programs
in their home countries. Our many international partners have evaluated
our programs and found them to be relevant in their countries. More
and more, our partners have increased their participation in our international
programs through cost-sharing.
