A core
function of the Region II Infertility Prevention Project (IPP)
is to collect and report prevalence monitoring data on
Chlamydia and Gonorrhea testing and positivity conducted
throughout four states/project areas: New Jersey, New York
City, New York State, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin
Islands.
This information is collected by each project area according
to national data standards, and collated by the Regional
Infrastructure (Cicatelli Associates Inc.) for submission to
the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The
data are included in CDC's Chlamydia Surveillance Supplement
Annual Report, and shared within the Region and Project
Areas on an ongoing basis in order to support program
evaluation and monitoring efforts.
