Agency for Health Care Quality and Research
The Agency for Health Care Quality and Research, the federal agency that sponsors the US Preventive Services Task Force recommendations on preventive services, has now listed appropriate preventive services for women and men on its website. Chlamydia screening of sexually active women 25 and under is included in the recommendations for women, in English. Sharing this information with your STD prevention partners can help increase awareness that Chlamydia screenings is recommended as a "mainstream" preventive service for American women, not a special service for a small subpopulation with unique risks.
