(PWA LTI)
CAI offers other programs related to HIV/AIDS.
The
New York City and New York State People Living with
HIV/AIDS Leadership Training Institute (PWA/LTI) is
a statewide initiative that provides training, skills
building, motivation, and education to people living
with HIV and AIDS (PWHA) to support the development
of involved and effective HIV-positive community leaders.
Training topics include community organizing, planning
and decision making, advocacy, and policy-making advice.s
Training is provided in a supportive, inclusive, and
interactive environment. |

The
LTI core training offers individuals living with HIV/AIDS...
- a
safe space in which to explore individual leadership strengths
and goals.
- a
better understanding of leadership opportunities in the
AIDS community.
- experience
in problem solving approaches around real community issues.
- a
strengthened ability to have a voice in the processes
that determine what AIDS services are appropriate and
needed.
- an
increased sense of personal empowerment.
Conceived,
developed, and directed by people living with AIDS and HIV,
the PWA/LTI is supported by the Health Resources Services
Administration (HRSA) through Ryan White CARE Act funds
administered by the New York City Department of Health and
the New York State Department of Health, AIDS Institute.
