CAIOnline is a learning management system that deploys distance learning (or e-learning), as well as tracks activity such as registration, assessments, evaluations, surveys, questionnaires, etc.

They are FREE. However, there is a small fee for continuing education credits.

Are continuing education credits free on CAIOnline? Return to Top

Usually there is a small fee for continuing education credits, based on the course. See the profile for each course for details.

How do I get my continuing education credit certificate? Return to Top

In the mail. You can either pay via credit card online using PayPal (secure system), or send us a check, along with a Continuing Education Credit Request Form. Specific instructions are included in each course, along with any necessary forms.

What are the system requirements for CAIOnline? Return to Top

• Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT or ME or higher
• Mac OS 9 or OS X or higher
• 64 MB RAM
• Modem minimum speed of 56K
• Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Reader
• Macromedia Flash Player
• RealOne Player
• Screen Resolution: Courses are best viewed at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768. For PC users, to change your settings, go to the Control Panel, select Display, choose the Settings Tab and change the Screen Resolution as indicated. For MacIntosh users, use your Monitor Control Panel to change the resolution. You can find this control panel by selecting your harddrive (MacIntoshHD), choosing the System Folder, drop down the Control Panels option, and select the Monitor Control Panel.

What is a learning management system? Return to Top

A system that tracks student progress in an online course or event. Learning management systems track individual student progress, record scores of quizzes and tests, and track registration and enrollment. Cicatelli's learning management system is called CAIOnline.

What is e-learning? Return to Top

It is another term for distance learning. Both are terms used to describe learning from a distance, or electronically, usually from home or from a remote location. E-learning encompasses any type of educational situation in which the instructor and students are separated by time, location, or both.

What is a virtual classroom? Return to Top

The online learning space where students and instructors interact simultaneously.

What is an online chat? Return to Top

A discussion that occurs online when all participants are simultaneously signed on to the computer.

What is a discussion board? Return to Top

An online conversation in which one person sends a question or comments to a list of people who have signed up for discussions on that topic. Respondents view the messages at their convenience and send replies to everyone on the discussion list.

What is a list-serv? Return to Top

An e-mail list that users sign-up to become a member. Conversations are e-mailed to list members.
