This course is no longer available on line
| Description: |
Sexual Assault
Interagency Collaboration On-line (SAIC On-line) was developed to help improve
communities' response to sexual assault by providing the information
and guidelines necessary to create a comprehensive interagency and
community response plan. SAIC On-line will guide you and other
representatives from agencies and organizations in your community in
establishing a Sexual Assault Interagency Council (SAIC). The SAIC
will develop and implement victim-centered protocol for responding to
sexual assault—protocol that will enhance the treatment of sexual
assault victims and encourage greater reporting of these serious
criminal assaults.

| Audience: |
SAIC participants should all be employed
in agencies that deal with sexual assault victims. These include law
enforcement, prosecution, victim services, and medical services
agencies, as well as other organizations, depending on the community.
Participants should be committed to improving the community's response
to sexual assault and should have time to devote to participation in
the SAIC. Often, it is appropriate for them to be mid-level managers
or supervisory personnel who would normally have responsibility in
their organizations for assisting with policy development. |
