Training Schedule & Locations
Cicatelli Associates Inc. provides training and technical assistance to Community Health Worker Program (CHWP) staff. Core training is conducted twice a year for all new CHWP staff. This training is designed to build knowledge and skills for working with the target population. Training topics include building documentation and outreach skills, establishing boundaries, preventing perinatal transmission of HIV, and cultural competency.
Additional trainings are coordinated by CAI and NYSDOH staff and are offered throughout the year to build familiarity of emerging issues for CHWP staff. CAI also conducts regional and web-based training in order to facilitate widespread access to training opportunities. Past training topics have included Oral Health and Pregnancy and Case Management in the CHW Program. Trainings are open only to CHW staff and CHW Coordinators in New York State.
