The Center for Addictions Training and Technical Assistance (CATTA), formerly SAATI, offers training to staff of addiction treatment agencies in all modalities.  Since 1994, CAI has provided re-credentialing credits through New York State OASAS to participants who complete its training programs; participants may apply their earned credits toward their CASAC credentialing requirements.  We also offer continuing education in the following areas: Nursing, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work and Medicine.

Review and Preparation for the
CASAC Examination

Friday & Saturday, May 31-June 1, 2013
9:00 am to 4:30pm
LOCATION: CAI

Friday & Saturday, November 15-16, 2013
9:00 am to 4:30pm
LOCATION: CAI

This training is designed for CASAC candidates who are already registered for the next scheduled  examination. Participants have found that the training is helpful whether they are taking the examination for the first time or repeating the examination to try to improve their scores.

This training will review the twelve core functions and their global criteria, what to expect at the testing site, terms and concepts, counseling approaches, clinical language, test-taking strategies, and common errors on the test. Participants will do exercises to highlight special topics and practice and analyze test-like questions in a simulated test situation.
