CHAPTER SIX: CONCLUSION & CONTACT INFORMATION Preventing adolescent pregnancy is a vital social issue with many constituencies having a vested interest in best practices and programs. This User’s Guide has defined best practices and harnessed the current available research in efforts to assist a diverse range of practitioners in their development of interventions. Teen pregnancy prevention programs are many and varied in their focus, content, modality and target population. While the information provided is not exhaustive, we intend it to be useful and easily tailored to any adolescent population served. The knowledge amassed in this User’s Guide will aid practitioners in better serving youth, families, and communities committed to preventing pregnancy among adolescents. Research focusing on adolescent pregnancy prevention is continually expanding. Users of this guide should access current research sources as new information emerges.
